Dream Family Special Events

Once a child is granted a dream by the Dream Factory, they are part of our family forever. We maintain an ongoing connection with our dream kids with an annual special event for every season. It’s one more way for us to stay in touch and continue that valuable support network between our volunteers and the dream families.

Dream Factory Day at the K (Spring)

Hundreds of Dream Factory children and their families enjoy a day of baseball and hot dogs at Kauffman Stadium. We begin with a parade down on the field where the kids meet Kansas City Royals players and take center stage. All children and their families get to watch the game from group seats provided by Dream Factory sponsors.

Fishing for Dreams (Summer)

At the annual Fishing for Dreams event, dream kids spend a warm, relaxing day fishing at a small area lake. Volunteers and supporters provide poles, bait, snacks and help taking those slippery suckers off the hook!

Family Picnic (Fall)

The annual Dream Factory Family Picnic is one of our most popular events, attended by hundreds of dream kids and their families. The location changes each year but is always a local, spacious area perfect for picnicking, playing games and clowning around. Special highlights have included a visit from Slugger, the KC Royals mascot, and awesome fireworks displays.

Movie Night with Dickinson Theatres (Winter)

What better way to spend a chilly winter evening than with a bag of popcorn and a good movie? Each year, dream kids and their families are invited to the Palazzo 16 Theatre for a free, special viewing of the latest hot holiday movie and a visit from Old Saint Nick. Dickinson Theatres is an outstanding supporter of the Dream Factory, providing our dream kids with a free movie-going experience and refreshments.
