Aubry's Dream
Aubry is a 14 year old from Topeka, KS. While brain cancer has weakened her body, her spirit is as strong as it is sweet. Her dream was to attend a KC Royals game with her twin brother. mom, sister and extended family. Her family all joined her in the limo ride from Topeka to Kauffman Stadium. Gil Meche (KC Royals pitcher) and his wife Stacy invited Aubry and her family to use their personal suite at the stadium. Gil was waiting in his suite when the family arrived. The Meche's had arranged for the suite to be filled with all of Aubry's favorite foods and decorated in yellow, her favorite color. Gil stayed with Aubry and her family until the game began. He signed one of his team jerseys and she wore it the entire time. He didn't forget her once the game ended. He stood on the field and waved to her as she waited for the fireworks to begin. It was a wonderful evening for Aubry to spend with her family and forget about her cancer, if only for a few hours.
The Dream Factory would like to thank Gil and Stacy Meche and Betty Kaegel, Director of Community Outreach for the Kansas City Royals for making Aubry's dream come true.

Pilot for a day: 303rd Fighter Squadron Make Dream Come True
Thirteen-year-old Wyatt, tries out a parachute harness and life preserve during his "pilot for a day" experience at the 303rd Fighter Squadron Jan. 11. Wyatt was treated to a ride in the squadron's A-10 Thunderbolt II Flight Simulator, a tour of an actual A-10 and a day in the life of an A-10 pilot. The visit was made possible by the Greater Kansas City chapter of the Dream Factory, which arranges special memories for children with serious or chronic medical conditions.
