Lee's Summit Home Tour to benefit The Dream Factory
March 8, 2007

Take a tour of a stunning $1.8 million lakefront home in Lee's Summit this spring and you'll be helping The Dream Factory while you're there.

The 6,000 square-foot custom home built by Jim Riffe of Riffe Homes is located in the Woodland Shores development on Prairie Lee Lake in Lee’s Summit, Mo. The home will be open for tours from Saturday, March 31 through Sunday, April 15. All proceeds from the $5 per person admission will benefit The Dream Factory.

The home will be open Monday through Friday from 12 noon to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Nestled in the trees overlooking the 180-acre Prairie Lee Lake, the home is at 2355 Lake Breeze Point in the Woodland Shores community located east of Highway 291 and Colbern Road.

The $1.8 million lakefront home was designed by Kansas City architect Scott Bickford and Boulder, Colorado, architect Jim Vandervorst. It features massive timbers from Montana, three wood-burning fireplaces, a combination of wide-plank oak, pecan and custom-milled sweet gum flooring, extensive use of stone inside and out, and a unique mix of vaulted wood ceilings and windows.

The exterior of the home resembles a European village with its multiple roof lines and decorative brackets. The house is set on a spectacular point overlooking the lake and offers a near 200-degree view of the water and park across the lake.

The home will be completely furnished for the tour by Gail Golden of Hobson Interiors and will feature an upscale, but relaxed, lodge décor.

In addition to the tour, a series of seminars will be offered in the home, ranging from a builder's behind the scenes tour, talks on the latest in home design, and more. The seminars are free of charge with the $5 tour admission. Reservations are not required, but are encouraged.
